JOB FUNCTIONS: The Associate Account Manager role is fundamental in Apogee’s production of business. The Associate Account Manager will provide a unique experience in interacting with our customers and the handling of their renewal submissions. This role also includes the challenge of building relationships with our many Markets, customers, and communicating with our Sales Team members to give our customers the perfect Apogee experience. This position will include the opportunity for professional development, insurance education, networking, and introduction to a variety of different career paths for future advancement.
Assist Account Management Team with Submission Marketing:
● Receiving applications for insurance from independent agent customers
● Reviewing and qualifying the risks and exposures for each individual account.
● Communicating with the company underwriters and the independent agent customers to negotiate favorable insurance proposals
● Studying various insurance proposals to determine viability for selling to independent agency customers.
● Discussing the features and benefits of each proposal with customers and ultimately asking for the sale.
Customer Focus & Responsibility:
● Responsible for building and maintaining constructive business relationships with independent agent customers over the phone by hitting daily outbound phone call metrics.
● Responsible for managing/growing a book of business, but does not have individual ownership of the business as Apogee owns all business written.
● Responsible for learning and understanding company underwriters’ appetites for risk and exposure.
● Data entry and creation of insurance proposals for delivery to customers
● Responsible for servicing policies and issuing endorsements
Qualifications Required:
● Bachelor’s degree is preferred
● P&C License (must obtain within first 90 days of employment)
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Ability to work both independently and in teams
● Motivated and results-driven personality
● Effective negotiation skills
Experience:
● 1-3 years of hands-on experience in customer service, communication, sales, or marketing is preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply
● Prior insurance product knowledge and insurance education – a plus!

Job Description: Our Customer Relationship Managers/Associate Agency Representatives serve as strategic relationship partners to independent retail insurance agencies, focusing on long‑term collaboration and supporting customers in accessing Apogee’s property and casualty quote solutions. Rather than cold calling or transactional selling, the role centers on working with warm leads and established agency relationships. Representatives take a consultative approach—understanding each customer’s goals, coordinating with internal underwriting and service teams, and guiding customers through the submission and placement process. Through phone outreach, virtual meetings, and in‑person interactions, Associate Agency Representatives share the full Apogee product to story to help customers identify opportunities, strengthen workflows, and deliver high‑quality business outcomes.
Build and Strengthen Agency Partnerships:
- Build strong, long‑term partnerships within your assigned territory.
- Communicate Apogee’s value—specialization, accessibility, and responsive support.
- Hold meaningful conversations to understand agency goals and identify opportunities.
- Generate new business through proactive outreach, follow‑up, and relevant market insights.
Support Client Success and Experience:
- Serve as a knowledgeable advisor throughout the submission and underwriting process.
- Manage submission flow and premium activity to meet performance goals.
- Expand Apogee’s presence within agency networks and industry groups.
- Strengthen relationships through participation in local networking and industry events.
Organization and Collaboration:
- Use CRM and account management tools and Microsoft Office to maintain accurate agency records.
- Demonstrate strong time management, organization, and follow‑through across a dynamic territory.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to enhance the client experience and support agency success.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Job Responsibilities Include:
Administration Team:
- Prepare and process daily quotes
- Develop and deliver insurance proposals to customers
- Process and deliver insurance binders and invoices to customers and subsequent prior-to-binding items
- Assist with state surplus lines reporting
Potential Additional Responsibilities Include:
Account Management Team:
- Hands-on experience managing professional liability accounts
- Communicate with agents on behalf of Apogee’s account managers to deliver quality customer service
- Assist the account management and sales team with quote follow-ups
Sales and Marketing Teams:
- Communicate with agents whose business we’ve lost, new agencies, and various developing agents
- Send Apogee’s “new customer form” for agency appointments
- Solicit new leads provide customer feedback
- Assist in various marketing projects focused on providing quality customer service and driving submissions
- Create marketing materials (hard copy and digital) to assist with various projects and initiatives
Requirements/Skills Needed:

- Enrolled in an accredited college/university
- Can work from within one of our Apogee Offices (Wayne, Oak Brook, Mission Viejo)
- Able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, not exceeding 29 hours
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Professional Oral & Written Communication Skills
- Ability to use proper time management and prioritization throughout the work day
